Human connection is still good business
A Seat at the Table

I’ve been rethinking titles lately. I’m an Interactive Media Lead instead of just a designer.
“Interactive” because the work goes beyond uniform: web, UX, accessibility, and digital experiences.
“Media” because it’s never just one thing: graphics, websites, platforms.
“Lead” because I don’t just implement: I guide, build, and take ownership.
Simple. Clear. Intentional.
That’s the mission: Creating the Impossible.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Yes, on paper, I’m a Graphic and Website Designer. But we are so much more than simply creating graphics and online user experiences.
We write your story, visually. We take the time to learn about you, your business, your inspiration, and what you want to communicate to your audience and the rest of the world.
Why am I saying this? Because we live in a world that is becoming less human, and we’re forgetting what we truly need: connection. We need genuine connections with others, and that applies to every aspect of our work as well.
As a sole proprietor, I often work alone in my office. I crave that human connection, so I have to be intentional about booking time with friends, networking, hiring a personal trainer, and planning vacations. Those experiences are where I meet so many incredible people.
So, all in all, hire that person, book that trip, or learn something new that keeps your mind active. That’s why human connection is still good business.
EXCITING NEWS
Recently, I hired a new design assistant to help with my social media, marketing, and portfolio needs. Last fall, my business coach encouraged me to hire someone so I could take the next step toward the goals I have for my business and my future.
To be honest, I was nervous and kept putting it off. At first, I hired a few people through the Fiverr freelancing website, but I quickly realized the quality wasn’t what I had envisioned. Instead, I created a job posting for Canadian designers and went through a full hiring process, including interviews and portfolio reviews.
I’d like to introduce Michelle James from Toronto, Ontario. She’ll be working behind the scenes to help bring more ease to my business so I can continue focusing on what I do best.
